How to start a healthy lifestyle?

I get this question many times; ‘How do I start a healthy lifestyle?’ As far I know, it all starts with your mindset, but there are a few more things that can help. In this blog I will give you some tips about how you can start a healthy lifestyle and become healthier and feel more alive.

1. Start walking

Exercise is often a deterrent, especially if your condition is not yet optimal. When it comes to exercise, a lot of people immediately think of intense and fanatic sports. But that’s not necessary at all.

When you are bit heavier or you are just starting out, it is better to build up your movement. And you do that by, for example, starting to walk. In my view, walking is often too condescending, as if walking does not achieve anything. That’s really nonsense! Walking is very healthy for body and mind. Did you know that with walking you can burn about 300 kcal in an hour?

While walking you can let go of everything you are doing and clear your head. Another advantage of walking is that it can be done anytime and anywhere. 2. Sport at home

Do you find it too exciting to work out in a gym? Or you don’t want to spent a lot of money at a expensive membership? Then there are plenty of options left to do. The internet is full of different workouts. There are for example over 800 free workouts on my YouTube channel. From beginners to advanced, from cardio to strength, with and without equipment.

3. Use a workout plan or program

Another thing that can help you to start a healthy lifestyle is a workout plan or program to follow along. You don’t have to exercise every day to get results. If you go too fast, the risk of injury will only increase, and of course that’s not what you want! Start with 2 active days, followed by a rest day and gradually build up. 4. Nourish your body

Besides starting to move with walking or home workouts you need to be aware of what you eat. Healthy food nourishes your body and does have lots of health benefits. You can exercise every day or even twice a day but if you don’t pay attention at what you put into your body you won’t see any results and you won’t feel better and fitter.
